About Project Dominic
Inspired by St. Dominic's all-night conversation with an Albigensian innkeeper that ended with the Albigensian's return to the Church, Project Dominic seeks to engage those who disagree with the Roman Catholic Church, consider their perspectives and arguments carefully and thoughtfully, and respond charitably. Project Dominic does not seek to have the last word, but the next word in what we hope will be an ongoing conversation.
Project Dominic is a loosely organized group of Catholics who desire that the teachings of the Catholic Church be known. Few members of Project Dominic have much expertise in theology or in writing, but all love the Church and want to demonstrate their love for both the Church and for individuals through their writings.
We hope that those we engage will see the charity which motivates this effort. Charity drove St. Dominic to give so much personal attention to the Albigensian innkeeper, and that same charity motivates our efforts.
Project Dominic responds to published or otherwise publicly available critiques of Church teaching by those known to at least one member, or writings which are presented as credible by those with whom we are in conversation. By this we hope to demonstrate our high regard for our opponents, if not for their arguments.
While every effort is made to represent the official teachings of the Catholic Church accurately and unambiguously, we encourage all readers to refer to the Catechism of the Catholic Church and other Magisterial documents for a more solid grounding in the faith.
